Terms of Service

The rules that apply when parents, guardians, learners, and tutors access Ajibu Virtual Academy.

Effective June 12, 2026

1. Using Ajibu

These Terms of Service govern your use of Ajibu Virtual Academy's website, accounts, online tutoring, assessments, learning materials, communications, and related services. By creating an account, purchasing a service, or using Ajibu, you agree to these Terms.

If you use Ajibu for a child, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have authority from the parent or legal guardian to accept these Terms and manage the child's participation.

2. Accounts and Eligibility

You must provide accurate, current information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and should notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Children may use Ajibu only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. Ajibu may suspend or close accounts that contain false information, create safety concerns, or violate these Terms.

3. Tutoring and Learning Services

Ajibu provides assessments, tutor matching, online lessons, learning materials, and progress information. Lesson plans and recommendations may be adapted based on learner needs, tutor availability, curriculum requirements, and educational judgment.

We aim to provide high-quality support but cannot guarantee particular grades, examination results, school placement, or academic outcomes. Progress depends on factors including attendance, participation, practice, and the learner's individual circumstances.

4. Scheduling, Attendance, and Cancellations

Lessons must be booked through the approved Ajibu process. Learners should join on time with a suitable device, internet connection, and learning environment.

Cancellation, rescheduling, missed-session, and refund rules communicated during booking or purchase form part of these Terms. Ajibu may reschedule a lesson where a tutor is unavailable or where technical, safety, or operational issues prevent delivery.

5. Fees and Payments

Prices, package details, billing periods, and accepted payment methods are shown before purchase. You authorize Ajibu and its payment providers to process the applicable charges.

Unless required by law or stated in the applicable cancellation policy, completed lessons and partially used packages may not be refundable. Ajibu may change future pricing with reasonable notice, but changes will not alter services already paid for unless agreed with you.

6. Safe and Respectful Conduct

Parents, learners, and tutors must communicate respectfully and must not engage in harassment, discrimination, threats, inappropriate content, cheating, impersonation, or any unlawful or unsafe behavior.

Do not share account credentials, private lesson links, another person's personal information, or recordings of sessions without authorization. Ajibu may remove content, restrict communication, suspend sessions, or terminate access where needed to protect learners, tutors, or the platform.

7. Learning Materials and Intellectual Property

Ajibu's website, branding, lesson resources, assessments, software, and original materials belong to Ajibu or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use learning materials for the enrolled learner's education. You may not sell, publish, copy in bulk, modify for commercial use, or distribute Ajibu materials without written permission.

8. Third-Party Services

Ajibu may use third-party services for payments, video sessions, communications, hosting, or other functions. Those services may have their own terms and privacy practices. Ajibu is not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

9. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Ajibu, you acknowledge that information will be handled as described there, including information needed to support child learners and report progress to parents or guardians.

10. Availability and Liability

We work to keep Ajibu reliable and secure, but the service may occasionally be interrupted by maintenance, connectivity, third-party failures, or events outside our control.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Ajibu will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits rights provided by applicable consumer law.

11. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Ajibu at any time. Ajibu may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, breach of these Terms, misuse, safety concerns, unlawful conduct, or conduct that materially harms Ajibu or another user.

Provisions concerning payments owed, intellectual property, privacy, liability, and dispute resolution continue where their nature requires them to survive termination.

12. Governing Law and Changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern promptly. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally may be handled by the courts or other competent authorities in Uganda.

We may update these Terms when our services or legal obligations change. The updated Terms will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
